ISAIAH'S ROAD TO SALVATION

Most believers have heard of the "Romans Road" in which the whole plan of salvation can be found in the text of the book of Romans. There is an Old Testament passage that is just as clear and concise and even more sobering. It is found in the book of Isaiah.

Isaiah chapter 6 reads,

1In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. 2Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. 3And one cried to another and said:
"Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts;
The whole earth is full of His glory!"
4And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke.
5So I said:
"Woe is me, for I am undone!
Because I am a man of unclean lips,
And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips;
For my eyes have seen the King,
The Lord of hosts."
6Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar. 7And he touched my mouth with it, and said:
Behold, this has touched your lips;
Your iniquity is taken away,
And your sin purged."
8Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying:
Whom shall I send,
And who will go for Us?"
Then I said, "Here am I! Send me."
9And He said, "Go, and tell this people:
'Keep on hearing, but do not understand;
Keep on seeing, but do not perceive.'
10Make the heart of this people dull,
And their ears heavy,
And shut their eyes;
Lest they see with their eyes,
And hear with their ears,
And understand with their heart,
And return and be healed."
11Then I said, "Lord, how long?"
And He answered:
"Until the cities are laid waste and without inhabitant,
The houses are without a man,
The land is utterly desolate,
12The Lord has removed men far away,
And the forsaken places are many in the midst of the land.
13But yet a tenth will be in it,
And will return and be for consuming,
As a terebinth tree or as an oak,
Whose stump remains when it is cut down.
So the holy seed shall be its stump."

If you look at the themes of this passage, you will see the walk that we often take from our unsaved state to a state of being used fully and blessed by the Lord.

In verses one to four we come to recognize the God is all powerful and Holy. We cannot be saved by a God we don't recognize as God very God, the Beginning and the End.

In verse five we come to see our true condition... dirty, worthless, and destined to hell. Without the Lord, we too are undone.

In verses six to seven God responds to our confession of sin by offering cleansing and forgiveness.

The natural response to being restored, forgiven and refreshed by Jesus is a desire to be used by God. This is what we see in verse eight. What follows in verses nine to thirteen is a commission from God... our own personal revelation of what we are to do and an ongoing relationship with the Lord as we walk it out.

There it is... in thirteen verses we go from our natural state to full time ministry in the anointing of the Most High God. Are you fully plugged into God? Are you in full fellowship with Him, knowing you are in the centre of His will and in constant communication with Him?

If not, compare your life to Isaiah chapter 6 and see if you missed anything. Perhaps you don't fully recognize God as being all in all and in full control of earth, time and history. Perhaps you haven't seen your soul condition without His forgiveness. Perhaps you haven't fully accepted His forgiveness and His righteousness. Finally, perhaps you haven't submitted the remainder of your life to His will and purposes.

Be encouraged to fill in the missing pieces of your walk so that walk turns into a run.

Be all that you can be... take the Isaiah road.
